October 6, 2008 : Company announcement

Leading IT solutions in waste management now fully integrated

Consist cooperating with SecCommerce

The IT service provider Consist is now using the signature application components from SecCommerce in its software for the electronic record procedure (eANV). This integration will provide Modawi users with the same secure components for legally required electronic signatures that are used by government agencies. A prerelease of the software solution is planned for December.

Kiel – The IT service provider Consist has concluded a cooperation agreement with SecCommerce, a company with many years of experience in solutions for electronic signatures. Consist and its subsidiary Consist ITU, a specialist in Europe-wide IT solutions for government agencies and companies in waste management, will extend their software Modawi (modular system for digital waste management) using the signature application components SecSigner and SecPKI Server by SecCommerce. With Modawi by Consist ITU and the components by SecCommerce, this means that the leading solutions for the implementation of the eANV directive will now be complete integrated.
Modawi is the eANV software used since February by the disposal company Tönsmeier as the first user in Germany to handle paperless transmission of consignment documents in routine operations using the Mini-ZKS (Central Waste Coordination Office). SecCommerce provides the signature solution to be used in the future by government agencies in the context of the ZKS-Abfall procedure for electronic signature of eANV documents.
With the new cooperation, the products of SecCommerce will be integrated components of the Modawi solution. Thus Modawi users will use the same signature components as government agencies, and thus achieve a higher level of security. The first delivery of Modawi 2009 is planned for December 2008.

Advantages and perspectives of cooperation

"For us, cooperation with Consist means to break into a new industry: waste management," says André Damm-Goossens, CEO of SecCommerce, explaining the motivation for cooperation with the Kiel IT company. And Consist Managing Director Martin Lochte-Holtgreven also expects future activity in other segments: "The experience with the eANV flagship initiative will surely support us in building other secure communication solutions in the e-government arena."

About Modawi

Modawi supports all processes for the handling and archival of documents in waste management, which the new Ordinance on Waste Recovery and Disposal Records specify, may exclusively be in electronic form. The software is a middleware solution and is integrated into existing waste management software invisibly to the user, creating a comprehensive overall solution. Modawi can be used in either local or server-based architectures.
