As a user of our website, this Privacy Statement will provide you with all necessary information on how, to what extent, and for what purpose we or third parties collect and use your data. Your data is collected and used strictly in compliance with the requirements of the German Data Protection Act (BDSG), the Telemedia Act (TMG), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and – after its entry into force – the EU ePrivacy Regulation. We consider ourselves particularly committed to the secrecy of your personal data and therefore work strictly within the boundaries defined by legal regulations. This personal data is collected on a voluntary basis whenever possible. We also disclose this data to third parties only with the explicit consent of the persons concerned. For particularly confidential data, such as your inquiries to us, we use SSL encryption for high security. However, we would like to take this opportunity to point out the general risks of Internet use over which we have no influence. Particularly in e-mail traffic, your data is not secure without additional measures taken, and can under some circumstances be captured by third parties.

You can receive information free of charge at any time about the personal data we have stored about you as well as its origin, the recipient, and the purpose of data collection and data processing. You are also entitled to request the correction, blocking, or deletion of your data. This does not apply to data stored due to legal requirements or needed for proper processing of business transactions. So that a data block can be implemented at any time, data is stored in a block file for control purposes. Cookies

We use cookies on our website. These small text files are stored by our server on your PC. They support the presentation of our website and help you navigate through our website. Cookies store data about your IP address, your browser, your operating system, and your Internet connection. We do not link this information to personal data and do not disclose it to third parties. Under no circumstances will we use cookies to introduce malware or spyware onto your computer. You can also use our website without cookies, although some displays and functions of our offering may then work only to a limited extent. If you want to disable cookies, you can do so using special settings of your browser. Please use its help function to make the appropriate changes. Collection of Access Data

The delivery and display of content through our website technically requires the collection of certain data. Your access to our website causes us to collect these so-called server log files. These log files cannot be used to identify you. The corresponding information consists of:

  • Information about the computer and its connection to the Internet, such as the type and version of the browser, operating system, and platform
  • The complete Uniform Resource Locator (URL) clickstream
  • The Internet Protocol address (IP address) that connects the user's computer to the Internet
  • The name of the page or file retrieved
  • The date and time of the retrieval
  • The quantity of data transmitted
  • A code specifying whether the retrieval was successful or led to an error.

We use this data to present and deliver our content as well as for statistical purposes. The information supports the provision and continual improvement of our website. We also reserve the right to check this data later, should there be any suspicion of illegal use of our website.

Content and Services Provided by Third Parties

The content of our website may under some circumstances also include content and services by other providers that complement our offering. Examples of such offerings are maps by Google Maps, YouTube videos, or the graphical displays of third parties. Calling these services from the third party regularly requires your IP address to be transmitted. That makes it possible for these providers to perceive your user IP address and to store it. We take great caution only to engage third-party providers who use IP addresses only to provide content. However, we have no influence on which third-party providers may store the IP address. This storage could be used for statistical purposes, for example. Should we learn of storage processes by third-party providers, we will immediately notify our users of this fact. In this context, please also note the special privacy statements for individual third-party providers and service providers whose services we use on this website. You may find them in this Privacy Statement as well.

Personal Data

Based on the principles of data avoidance and data frugality, we collect personal data only to the extent and for the time necessary for the use of our website, or required under current legislation. We take the protection of your personal data seriously, and remain strictly compliant with the appropriate legal regulations and this Privacy Statement during collection and processing of personal data. Once the purpose of the data collection no longer pertains or the end of the legal retention period is reached, the collected data will be blocked or deleted. Our website can normally be used without the disclosure of personal data. When we collect personal data – such as your name, address, or e-mail address – this data collection is voluntary. Without your express approval, this data will not be disclosed to third parties. Please note that data generally cannot always be transmitted securely on the Internet. In particular in e-mail traffic, protection cannot be guaranteed for data exchange.

Server Log Files

Server log files are anonymized data that are collected when you access our website. This information cannot be used to personally identify you, but for technical reasons it is essential for the delivery and presentation of our content. Furthermore, the data are used for our statistics and the continual optimization of our website. Typical log file data are the date and time of access, data volumes, the browser used for the access and its version, the operating system used, the domain name of the provider you requested, the page from which you were linked to our website (the referrer URL), and your IP address. Log files also allow checking if there is any suspicion of illegal use of our website.

SSL Encryption

To protect the transfer of confidential or personal content of our users as well as possible, our websites always use SSL encryption. The use of encryption is easy to detect: The display in your browser line changes from "http://" to "https://". Data encrypted using SSL cannot be read by third parties. Transfer your confidential information only with SSL encryption activated, and contact us in case of any doubt.

Google AdWords

We use Google AdWords on our website, an online advertising program provided by Google Inc. This also includes the use of conversion tracking. With this tool, Google AdWords sets a cookie on your PC when you visit our website through a Google ad. The cookie is no longer valid after 30 days. It cannot be used to track you. If you visit our website as a user and the cookie is still working, we and Google will recognize that you clicked on the ad and were redirected to our site. Each Google AdWords customer is assigned a different cookie. Cookies therefore cannot be tracked via the websites of the AdWords customers. Conversion cookie data is used to generate conversion statistics for advertisers. We, as a customer, thus discover the total number of users who responded to our ad and then went to a web page that was tagged with a conversion tracking tag. We do not receive any information in this process that could personally identify you as a user. If you decline the tracking process, the cookie of the Google conversion tracking can be deactivated via your Internet browser. If necessary, see the help function of your browser for further information. You can find out more about Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). The Google Analytics code on this website is supplemented by “anonymizeIp” to ensure an anonymized collection of IP addresses (so called IP-masking). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. In case of activation of the IP anonymization, Google will truncate/anonymize the last octet of the IP address for Member States of the European Union as well as for other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases, the full IP address is sent to and shortened by Google servers in the USA. On behalf of the website provider Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website provider. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. Furthermore you can prevent Google’s collection and use of data (cookies and IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB.

You can refuse the use of Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set on the computer, which prevents the future collection of your data when visiting this website: Deactivate Google Analytics. Further information concerning the terms and conditions of use and data privacy can be found at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/gb.html or at https://www.google.de/intl/en_uk/policies/.

Google Maps Plug-in

We use a plug-in from the Internet service Google Maps on our website. The operator of Google Maps is Google Inc., domiciled in the United States, at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043. When you use Google Maps on our website, information about the use of this website and your IP address is transmitted to a Google server in the US and stored on that computer. We have no knowledge about the exact content of the data transmitted nor about their use by Google. In this context, the company Google denies merging the data with information from other Google services and the collection of personal data. However, Google can transmit the information to third parties. If you disable JavaScript in your browser, you can prevent the execution of Google Maps. However, in that case you will not be able to use any map displays on our website. By using our website, you declare your consent to the collection and processing of information by Google Inc. described above. You can find out more about the privacy policies and terms of service for Google Maps here: https://www.google.com/intl/en_en/help/terms_maps.html.
