Another Big Data Hackathon at Consist

During the night from November 3-4, 2022, Consist Software Solutions will be hosting another Big Data Hackathon in Kiel. Racing data is the focal point: students will be creating and evaluating data from the open world racing game, Forza Horizon 5, in real time.

Kiel – Consist Software Solutions will be hosting the Big Data Hackathon for students on November 3-4, 2022, at its premises in Kiel in cooperation with Kiel University of Applied Sciences (FH Kiel). The Big Data Hackathon is incorporated into the 27th interdisciplinary weeks by the FH Kiel.

Participants will be tasked with analyzing and evaluating the telemetric data from the virtual racing game Forza Horizon 5 using Splunk, and presenting the results in clear dashboards. In addition to the data that will be available at the start of the hackathon, participants will also be able to generate their own data with a quick round of racing on the games console, which they can then analyze directly afterwards.

Splunk is a platform for central log management, monitoring and reporting and is based on Big Data technology. Consist and Splunk have been linked for 10 years with a technology partnership.

Hackathon is a popular event

The event in the style of a hackathon is aimed at students who are interested in data analysis and Big Data. Experts from Consist will be supervising the participants during the event. The IT company will also be providing catering as well as the venue. Students at the FH Kiel can collect credit points for their studies by participating. The hackathon is also open to students from other universities.

Consist’s Big Data Hackathon has been taking place for several years and is very successful. This will already be the second Big Data Hackathon in 2022.
