After the nomination and a first selection check, 12 juries at regional level decide about the qualification for the final participation, which is then decided among the best remaining nationwide companies.

What is the Grand Prix of Small and Medium Business?
The Grand Prix of Small and Medium Business is one of the leading awards in the German economy - according to the isw study, it is the most important economic prize for the small and medium business. It is awarded by the Oskar-Patzelt Foundation, which was honored for its voluntary commitment in this respect in 2008 and 2016 with the Federal Cross of Merit.

What is special about this price?
Companies can not apply for the price themselves, but must be nominated by third parties. A further special feature is the fact that not only entrepreneurial achievements are assessed, but also the company's commitment to the region and society.

In 1995, the award was given for the first time, then still under the name "Oskar of Small and Medium Business", which alarmed Hollywood. After a legal dispute, one agreed on the current name, under which the award was launched nationwide from 2005 onwards.
