Participation in the 3rd UKSH Benefit Cup

Consist is sailing against cancer

Consist is entering its own sailing team for the benefit regatta "UKSH setzt Segel gegen Krebs" (the UKSH is setting sail against cancer) on September 24, 2016 in Kiel Schilksee. Like last year, the Kiel IT service provider is also supporting the sports and exercise activities for cancer patients at the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) North with a voluntary donation.

Kiel - Consist Software Solutions is participating in the 3rd "UKSH setzt Segel gegen Krebs" benefit cup, to take place on September 24, 2016 in Kiel Schilksee, with its own sailing team. 18 teams will sail in support of sports and exercise therapy at the CCC North.

The Kiel campus offers its oncology patients sports and exercise options that will be further expanded by donations and the proceeds of the benefit regatta. Consist is also contributing not only its starting fee for the regatta, but also a voluntary donation for the cause. The Kiel IT service provider will be supporting the most important sports and exercise activities for cancer patients at the UKSH with a total sum of 500 Euros. Consist was already on board with this action with a crew and a donation in 2015.

Event program

The Benefit Cup will be run with 28-foot sailing yachts. Each boat has its own skipper who will train the participants in the various maneuvering techniques before the race starts, and will also be at their side during the regatta.

The event is oriented towards patients and interested people, and will offer a fun program from 9 am to 6 pm – at sea with the regatta and accompanying cruises, as well as on land. On the grounds of Kiel University’s Segelzentrum (Sailing Center), guests will be able to hear lectures on nutrition, cancer treatment, and research as well as sports, get information at booths, or take part in the wheel of fortune of the UKSH Freunde- und Förderverein.
