Donations to "Mach Mittag"

Kiel – Consist’s Managing Director Martin Lochte-Holtgreven presented Angelika Volquartz, 1st ambassador for "Mach Mittag" and Kiel’s former mayor with a check, donating €4,000 to the Mach MITTAG e. V. association on May 27, 2019 at Consist’s headquarters in Kiel Friedrichsort. "We make regular donations to a worthy cause in the region. Our staff have a vote to decide which charity should receive our support each time. Mach Mittag was the winner this time," explained Martin Lochte-Holtgreven.

The money will go to help children who would otherwise not be able to eat school lunches if there was no financial aid. Part of the costs are covered by the state and the city for children with an education voucher. However, some families still can’t afford the €1 per child per day that they need to pay on top of this. This currently affects around 2,300 families in Kiel. The initiative relies on donations like this one from Consist in order to provide these children with a warm lunch, too.

"Mach Mittag" is a campaign by the "Bildung macht stark" foundation, which was set up in 2011 with the goal of closing a gap in the funding of warm school lunches. The Mach MITTAG e. V. association has supported the work done by this foundation since 2015.
