Consist moves into new headquarters

Kiel - Consist Software Solutions moved into its new headquarters at Christianspries 4 in Kiel Friedrichsort on January 1, 2019. Consist had acquired the large building complex, located directly at the Kiel Fjord and very close to the previous headquarters in Falklandstraße, from Caterpillar Motoren GmbH & Co. KG in 2017, and in 2018 spent millions on modernization, which was completed within the planned timeframe.

"After almost 9 years of working at several locations, we are now finally all under one roof, and at the same time have returned to our place of origin, as our company started its activities here in the building in 1983 as a profit center within Krupp MaK," explained Consist’s Managing Director Martin Lochte-Holtgreven. In 1994, the company was spun off as MaK DATA SYSTEM Kiel GmbH, and has grown more and more over the years. Most recently, the IT specialist with approximately 220 employees was split between two locations - at the former company building in Falklandstraße, and several offices in the Kiel Science Park. With the new building complex, there is now enough space for the planned further corporate growth. The headquarters are situated on a 16,000 square meter plot, with a net floor area of 7,000 square meters spread over 6 floors. There is space for approximately 350 people. Part of the office space is currently leased to third parties.

Modern workplaces right next to the ocean

Characteristic features of the interior layout are the modern-looking industrial design, clear color accents set by different large-scale color surfaces for each floor, and the use of many glass elements, which create a high degree of transparency.

Different spatial concepts have been implemented at the headquarters, with large open-plan areas as well as closed offices of different sizes. The workspaces are complemented by numerous meeting, conference and lounge areas. During the modernization, the company placed special emphasis on soundproofing to enable undisturbed concentration, state-of-the-art conference technology, and energy-saving lighting with LEDs.
