In the black in 2019

IT company Consist Software Solutions increased its turnover, hired new staff and celebrated moving into the new company headquarters in the 2019 fiscal year. The topics of IT security, cloud and agility saw a surge in demand in 2019.

Kiel – Consist generated consolidated revenue of EUR 29.5 million in 2019 (prev. year: EUR 29 million), taking subsidiary Consist ITU Environmental Software GmbH into account. This means that the company achieved a slight increase in sales in the 2019 fiscal year. This plus can mainly be put down to the turnover in software engineering and consulting.

"Our strategic orientation from the past few years has further paid off and is future-oriented, because our business fields match what the market needs most: Digital Transformation, IT Security and Managed Services," explained Consist's Managing Director Jörg Hansen. A distinguishing feature of 2019 was further consolidation of the IT security services at Consist. "The past year also clearly showed that the cloud as a topic has fully reached the mid-sized sector. We are seeing more interest in cloud-related projects among our clients," emphasized Jörg Hansen. Agility is also on the rise, not only in software development, but also in the consulting business. Agile methodologies are one of Consist’s specialties.

"Application maintenance is also still in demand," explained Consist's Managing Director Martin Lochte-Holtgreven. The company has been an established Managed Services provider for many years. The clients who have their applications and systems supervised by Consist benefit from freedom to concentrate on new topics, such as within the scope of the digital transformation. "A Managed Services highlight from 2019 is the Managed SAP service, which we refined in 2019," said Martin Lochte-Holtgreven. This includes SAP Application Management and SAP Infrastructure Assistance.

More members of staff in the new company building

In 2019, Consist hired several new members of staff, and had 220 employees as at December 31, 2019. The goal is to increase the size of the team even more. In 2020 it plans to hire over 20 new colleagues.

In light of the further increase in personnel, Consist moved into its new headquarters in Kiel Friedrichsort on January 1, 2019, which offer plenty of space for the planned further growth with its net floor area of 7,000 square meters across 6 floors. This large company building, directly by the sea, was officially inaugurated on August 23, 2019 with several hundred guests and keynote speakers from politics and industry.

Handling the current corona crisis

Consist’s business operations are not put at risk by the corona crisis. In accordance with an emergency backup plan, work shall continue, especially from home. Internal and external meetings will continue to be held via video conferences. All consultation, service and sales operations can be performed remotely by means of tested technological options.

Looking forward

Consist anticipates the IT market to show further positive development in 2020 and expects continued growth, especially in the IT security service field.
